At this meaningful moment, as we celebrate the 60th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Türkiye and Somalia, and mark the 15th anniversary of the historic visit to Somalia by our President, H.E. Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, and the Esteemed First Lady, I am greatly honoured and delighted to assume my duties as the Ambassador of the Republic of Türkiye to the Federal Republic of Somalia.

As our President, H.E. Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, also stated yesterday in his address to the United Nations General Assembly, Türkiye remains fully committed to supporting Somalia’s efforts in the fields of security, development and the strengthening of institutional capacity.

Our foremost aim is to further advance Türkiye-Somalia relations on the basis of mutual respect, trust and common interests, in a spirit of friendship and sincerity, for the shared prosperity and well-being of our two friendly and brotherly peoples.

Throughout this shared journey, we will be greatly pleased to benefit from the valuable views and suggestions of our esteemed Turkish citizens and Somali friends.
